Laura fell in love with reading as an escape at a young age. She frequently found refuge reading books within the branches of her favorite dogwood tree at her childhood home.

Her love of fantasy began when she read A Wrinkle in Time as a child, which sparked a lifelong love of unlikely girl heroes, found family, time travel, and trios of magical women. An unabashed geek, Laura has been known to gush over comic books, superheroes, Greek Mythology, Shakespeare, and Disney.

Laura holds a B.A. in English Literature and M.A. in Teaching of English.  She currently lives in upstate New York with her gallant husband and three often magical, sometimes moody, children. 

When not conjuring up fantastical stories, Laura can be found in her classroom- talking about books or grading papers- with an enormous cup of tea in hand.
